The International Development Law Organisation (IDLO) is an intergovernmental organisation with a focus on the rule of law and development.

With the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), biodiversity has been recognised as essential to human resilience and economic opportunity, and its preservation requires action from all sectors of society.

IDLO is taking a lead in recognising that 'rule of law' based approaches can deliver long-term, scaled-up change, which is needed to secure just and equitable lives for people around the world.

IDLO commissioned Martineau & Co to develop a series of factsheets to show the ways in which law can be used to support biodiversity.
